Fridays for Future: a global movement

We take a look at what has evolved and grown into an inspiring campaign for climate change, Fridays for Future, is committed to real change, now.

In August 2018, 15-year old Greta Thunberg and other young climate activists decided to strike to protect against the lack of action on climate change and the consequent crisis as a result of it.

What began as a three week Friday school strike has grown into a global movement of young climate activists with clear goals to combat climate change in order to ensure a future for everyone.

Over time the movement has set very clear environmental goals that they believe will help to protect further damage to our planet.

  1. Keep the global temperature rise below 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels
  2. Ensure climate justice and equity
  3. Listen to the best united science currently available

The movement works to encourage individuals and clients to adopt the goals and to make them achievable. This is a matter of urgency in many areas and will take a concerted effort from global governments, the private sector and individuals.
